The National Press and Publication Administration has launched the Outstanding National Audiobook Publishing Project in order to strengthen and guide the creation and production of audiobooks that better meet the spiritual and cultural needs of Chinese people. After collection, selection and evaluation, 55 audiobooks were selected from a total of 694 submitted by 284 publishers. In early November, the list of books to be included in the 2020 Outstanding National Audiobook Publishing Project was announced. China Wisdom Audio Storybook, a book series by FLTRP, was selected.

China Wisdom Audio Storybook is based on the audio stories of “Mysterious” Chinese Terminology series. The original series is one of the achievements of the Key Concepts in Chinese Thought and Culture – Translation and Communication Project, an initiative by the Ministry of Education. China Wisdom Audio Storybook introduces children between the ages of five and ten to traditional Chinese worldviews, cultural and geographic knowledge, the development and influence of classical and modern poetry, and traditional values and etiquette. It is an outstanding audio and pictorial collection of children’s literature that includes three titles: “Culture and Geography”, “Poetry and Art” and “Morality and Etiquette”. The first two titles have been published, with the third due in 2021.

“Mysterious” Chinese Terminology of Culture and Geography covers 14 concepts related to humanity and geography. The book combines traditional culture with humanities, geography, history and modern developments to give readers a better understanding of Chinese culture. The book contains nearly 500 classical historical, cultural and geographical terms for readers. It also contains more than 200 hand-painted images and maps. This is a picture book of traditional culture, an encyclopedia of humanity and geography, an artwork for parent-child reading, and a treasure for training thinking skills. This book, which won the 2018 Bing Xin Children's Book Award, has already been licensed for overseas publication in several languages.

There are more than ten key concepts related to poetry in the “Mysterious” Chinese Terminology of Poetry and Art. This book is an extension of Chinese textbook compiled by the Ministry of Education. Thanks to experts from Peking University, Renmin University, Wuhan University and other renowned academic institutions, the content of the book has been carefully selected and interpreted, in order to accurately elucidate Chinese traditional culture and lay a solid cultural foundation for the development of children’s critical thinking and global outlook. The book introduces the origin of Chinese poetry, analyzes its imagery, and explains its stylistic devices, allowing children to better understand the literary allusions and artistic concepts hidden within.
