FLTRP Attends the 47th Sofia International Book Fair

From December 10 to 15, 2019, FLTRP delegation attended the 47th Sofia International Book Fair and successfully held a publishing achievements exhibition at the fair, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Bulgaria. More than 400 titles were exhibited, with themes ranging from Chinese culture/literature to Chinese learning.

On December 11, FLTRP co-organized a seminar on cultural exchanges between China and Bulgaria together with Confucius Institute in Sofia and Iztok-Zapad Publishing House. Around 50 experts attended the four-hour event, during which book publishing contracts were signed by FLTRP and two Bulgarian Publishers, newly-published books about China were launched, and thematic reports on the development of Chinese-Bulgarian cultural relations since 1978 and on Chinese literature in Bulgaria and vice versa were presented.

At beginning of the seminar, Ms Aksiniya Koleva, host of the event and Bulgarian Director of the Confucius Institute in Sofia, read a congratulatory address on behalf of Bulgarian President Rumen Radev. Yan Jianqun, political counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Bulgaria gave a speech after that, saying the seminar would contribute to the further cooperation in book publishing between the two countries.
