The 24th Minsk International Book Fair opened in Belarus on 2nd Feb 2017, with the participation of publishers and authors from 32 countries and regions. Entrusted by the State Ministration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of China, the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press (FLTRP) and the Beijing Publishing Group attended the fair on behalf of Chinese publishers, attracting great attention from the local government, publishers and media.
Minister of Information of the Republic of Belarus Ms. Ananich Liliya and the First Deputy Director of the Office of the President Mr. Ryzhenkov Maksim visited the China stand. Mr. Peng Donglin, Director of World Languages Publishing of FLTRP, introduced FLTRP’s business and characteristics, expressing FLTRP’s wishes to take this opportunity to promote communication and cooperation between Chinese and Belorussian publishers.

Mr. Zhang Hongwei, Chief of Cultural Department of the Embassy of China to Belarus, communicated with the exhibitors and introduced the situation of the newly established Minsk China Cultural Center. Books exhibited by FLTRP this time were all donated to this center as their first batch of books for spreading Chinese language and culture.

During the interview given by OHT, the second national TV channel of Belarus, Mr. Peng said that as a renowned university press and foreign language press in China, FLTRP is accelerating its process of internationalization, and will utilize our advantages to actively expand the cooperation with Belarus and other Belt & Road countries.

FLTRP exhibited nearly 300 titles covering world languages learning, Russian readers, CLT textbooks, children’s books, and books on Chinese culture and social sciences, etc, among which books on CLT and Chinese culture attracted lots of attention of Belorussian readers.
